As a Software Development Intern, you will contribute to building digital platforms and tools that enable MEED Foundation to manage, analyze, and communicate development data effectively. This role is ideal for a technically skilled individual passionate about using software to drive social and economic impact. You’ll help design and maintain software that supports data visualizations, monitoring dashboards, reporting tools, and field data collection applications.
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design and develop interactive web-based tools and dashboards to facilitate access to research outputs and real-time development indicators.
- Collaborate with data scientists, researchers, and program managers to translate technical requirements into software features.
- Write clean, modular, and well-documented code in Python, JavaScript (Node.js), or PHP, depending on the platform architecture.
- Maintain and improve backend APIs and databases (e.g., MongoDB) that support MEED’s digital infrastructure.
- Support data visualization tasks by integrating frontend libraries.
- Conduct testing, debugging, and performance tuning across multiple browsers and devices.
- Ensure systems follow best practices for security, scalability, and data integrity.
Qualifications Required:
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related program.
- Hands-on experience with web development frameworks and version control (Git/GitHub).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills.
